“All in front hall awaiting company and we had a fine furry time. Brushing more exciting than food (yes!) ‘Let’s stuff a pillow!’ No, Harry did not escape, although he eyed The Door Opening; yes. And then a certain Maine Coon Cat rolled upside down while others watched. We all sat on the floor and admired each other. Fresh food, water, litterbox, something beeping somewhere, no mail as yet, just food flyers…

“The click of the lock and Harry at the door, circling and stretching. Someone spat up near the litter box — but they all look most innocent. Put off wet food food for a day and went to search out the dishy Maine person who was not yet downstairs to be brushed and admired and yet another cat who refused to be blamed for evaluating the tinned cat food.

“Shared a carousel of cats moving around the house double checking the ritual of fresh food and water and clean litter box and brushing One and then Another. Thank you, LYSA, for the phone call. I’ll speak to everyone tomorrow, on general principles, because I’ll be next door, but this is a ‘gratis’ visit.

“Harry at door, small one napping in living room and Mr. Bounteous Fur curling around ankles. Fed ‘em because it’s 1:15 already.”
We arrived home at 6 pm Monday night to a happy troop of beasties, all well-looked after, all well-fed. Anyone in the Northern Westchester area looking for a divine pet-sitter, I’ve got your woman.
