hi, loved your blog and hearing about your family. what caught my eye was your misdiagnosis. i too was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia, slightly different story tho in that my tranquilizers spun me out and sent me crashing which led them to believe that i was psychotic (apparently i had hidden it all along!). i would still be on them now if it was up to the wise old docs. .

My incredible shrinking world. You found my blog through dooce.com and posted, and here we were damn neighbours for almost two years. (the lake of which I speak often is Oscawana, up off Route 6 in PV) I can totally sympathize with "getting enough of me back" though I'm not bipolar myself. I was treated for 8 years for serious depression (after 14 hellish years of just thinking I was doomed to be a moody psycho forever) when it finally dawned on a new doctor (one in Putnam Hospital Center in Brewster, in fact) that I was exhibiting many of the classic symptoms that some people diagnose as borderline personality disorder. It's a weird array of symptoms, most of which are more annoying than you can possibly imagine, even when I take my Effexor faithfully. Fortunately, it's more under control than it's ever been, thanks to the sobering effects of my last brush with it.

Anyhoo, thought I'd come by and say hi!

The world is a small, and ironic place! My name is Beau Jackson and my wife and I publish Spindle And Wheel magazine. I was looking at our site info and saw that somebody came to the site by the link on your page (thanks for spreading the word). I like to see who's recommending us so I decided to check out your site.

We have a couple of things in common - I use this same theme (slightly modified) for my own personal blog (http://beau.thethreeringranch.com) and I'm also bi-polar.

Hope things work well with the new p-doc. I've got a pretty good one and have been doing pretty well with the meds he has me on, so don't give up on it.
